+ About Century Building Systems

Local expertise. Lasting commitment.

Anyone can put up a building. The question is who answers the phone five years later. Century is a local Fargo crew — and our reputation lives within driving distance of every building we've put up.

This is what we do.

Century Building Systems is the focused steel and post-frame division of Century Builders ND — the team you call when the project is a shop, an ag building, a warehouse, or a commercial facility rather than a remodel.

That focus matters. Building systems are their own discipline: engineered loads, clear spans, foundations matched to clay soils, envelopes that hold heat through January. We do this work every day, in the same conditions your building will live in.

Why local matters

How we work

No fluff. How we work.

01

We've seen your conditions

Snow loads, wind, and clay soils aren't abstractions — we engineer for the weather we shovel and the ground we build on.

02

We show up during the build

Your project is a drive, not a flight. Decisions get made on site, by people with authority to make them.

03

We're reachable after

Questions a year later get answered by the same local team — not a 1-800 queue in another time zone.

04

Our name is on the line here

We live where we build. Every project is a referral or a reputation problem — we treat it accordingly.

What you can expect

Our end of the deal

  • Straight answers — including "post-frame is cheaper and fits your job better"
  • A written estimate before work starts, not a number that grows in the dark
  • One contract covering design, engineering, and construction
  • A realistic schedule, and a call when anything changes it
What we ask of you

Your end of the deal

  • Tell us how the building will actually be used — workflow designs the building
  • Be straight about budget; we'd rather design to it than surprise you
  • Make decisions when the schedule needs them
  • Call us first when something's not right — we'll make it right
What we value

What we build on.

01Focus

Control what you can control

Don't waste time worrying about what you can't change — focus on what you can influence, and move fast.

02People

Put the right people in the right places

Companies grow faster when people are placed where they create the most value.

03Value

Pay for value, not titles

Compensation is based on the value a person brings, not the position they hold.

04Quality

Choose quality over short-term profit

“I will lose money on a job before I will leave somebody with a product that I’m not satisfied with.”

05Long-term

Think long-term

Decisions get made on what makes sense over 5, 10, or 20 years — not just what’s in front of us.
